Mindfulness Meditation2nd and 4th Sundays
|
9:30 AM, 2nd & 4th Sundays
Unity of Mesa Annex |
If you would like to deepen your meditation practice and sit in meditation with an in-person group, join Karen Peifer in the Annex the 2nd and 4th Sundays before service. We will start with a reading and then sit for 20-30 minutes.
Everyone has a busy mind, but meditation is a skill to develop through ongoing practice. The mindfulness practice allows you to not judge those thoughts and to just sit with them, be aware of what they are, but just sit. Mindfulness meditation derives from many different traditions and although definitions and techniques are wide-ranging, we will focus on using the breath as the object of meditation, awareness of the thoughts without judgement and taking a few moments to just sit in the present moment. All are welcome regardless of experience.
